About GERMENS™

Gregor & René are two artists who have turned their attention to the aesthetic in fashion, by introducing their new label GERMENS™ art fashion. As well as the question of beauty, aesthetics can include the sublime, graceful, tragic, ugly, dramatic, deeply humorous, comic, idyllic etc. It is also here that seeking begins to become philosophising. Every surface is original and freshly minted and the existing patterns are either drawn or painted. That does not exclude the option of building optical models or the search for quirky artefacts in antique shops in order that one may exploit their photographic qualities.

We invite artists to come and provide their own designs for a shirt, which they can present to the public in small numbers as a GERMENS™ artist shirt. This also provides a platform to present the artist’s CV and work.

Anyone who senses the enchantment of holding good material in their hands and who has felt the fineness and elegance of this second skin, is also aware of the feeling of responsibility that a manufacturer must have for his product. We place our trust in a completely honest product and manufacture this shirt in Germany and Poland according to the fairest and most environmentally-friendly conditions.

Our credo is based upon the best possible quality, originality instead of seriality and a modern cut with a few little extravagances. Of course, we also have a keen appreciation of baroque excess and opulence. We love Haute Couture and unique character. For this reason, we only produce fine and limited editions.

GERMENS™ shirts have a fabric that is made from the finest long fibre Egyptian cotton, that is produced specifically to our designs in a Saxon Jacquard weaving mill. The materials are refined and printed in Saxony and the garments are then produced in a shirt factory in Poland.
