GERMENS™ artist collaboration

GERMENS™ are gaining more renowned artists who create a shirt as a wearable piece of art. Each creative person uses their own images and forms a shirt for everyone’s taste. This is how extraordinary clothes are made, but also art connoisseurs discover more and more that a GERMENS™-Shirt is a collector‘s item.

Tribute to Frida Kahlo

Daniel Schoa, atelierblau, Germany

Daniel Schoa, an artist with special perspectives, created the highly detailed template for this particular shirt.

It is an exciting task for the artists to design their own personal shirt, to get involved with the shapes deviating from the square and to be able to wear their creation as a fine, three-dimensional product for quite some time. The GERMENS™ customer benefits from an ever-growing selection of unique shirts.

Circuslife

Leonore Zimmermann, Germany

The special feature of GERMENS™-Shirts is the type of the fabric. The consistent linkage of art and clothing is a globally unique concept that reinterprets the typical, classic shirt. It is no longer just a fine piece of clothing, but also collectable edition of art with the potential to increase in value.

Emperor

Steffen Kraushaar, Germany

We distinguish between artwork (e.g., graphics, painting) and the surface pattern of the garment. Every artist or designer is required to engage in the three-dimensional object „shirt“ and to apply creative work to it. This generates exciting new combinations. The artist participates in the sale.

We invite artists from all over the world, and we are looking forward to the creative exchange.

Knockout

Teemu Kaski Finland

The Finnish artist Teemu Kaski painted this very colorful template for the shirt ”Knockout.“

The artist receives 20 $ per shirt sold. The amount of the annual payout depends on the actual sales for each GERMENS™ shirt.

1. Artists and Germens™ get in touch

Send us an eMail to info@germens.shop. Please provide us with some examples or a link to your website or to your Facebook or Instagram profile.

2. Germens™ sends special templates

You receive a contract and paper templates to edit. Refer to other materials, e.g. Canvas or cardboard, so you can use the paper templates as a template. You can also work digitally, here you get a PSD file.

3. Finished originals back to GERMENS™

Send the finished templates to GERMENS with DHL or another carrier with proof. Please sign a copy of the contract.

4. GERMENS™ transforms art into shirts

Your original artwork will be digitized and reproduced on fabric. The fabric production is very complicated and takes place in Germany. Then the shirts are made manually.

5. Artist gets a shirt for free

Each artist receives a shirt in his desired size for free. It may take up to 4 months between the template initialization and the finished product.

6. Sales participation

If a customer buys the shirt you have designed, you are entitled to an artist‘s contribution of $ 20 incl. VAT. The payment is made once a year, preferably in December.

What advantage do I have
as an artist?

With each passing day, GERMENS™ becomes better known and sales increase accordingly. This gives you an additional monetary income through the sales participation.

In addition to the sale of the product we present the framed original artwork together with the shirts in galleries, museums and events. We show the artist‘s original as a basis for the finished product. The artists are named on the product pages in the online shop, as well as in the catalogues. On TV, the well-known presenter Kai Ebel wears GERMENS™ shirts during Formula One races, maybe even the ones designed by them.

Why should I do the work? What do I get from that? Some of these questions may arise, but most artists are enthusiastic about the possibility of finally seeing and wearing their artistic work as a shirt of the highest quality. So far you could design T-shirts, but not shirts. GERMENS™, after many years of development, has succeeded in producing a  top new product.
